MARCH: Free work club

A new free Work Club is being launched in March from Thursday, November 15, to help people get jobs and gain new skills.

Cambridgeshire County Council, together with support from Job Centre Plus and the Adult Careers Service, are hosting the new work club at March Library every Thursday from 10am to 12noon.

The new club will offer information, advice and guidance on work and employment. It will also provide support for those people wishing to gain qualifications in IT or to brush up on their Maths and English skills.

Attendees can receive advice on jobs from Job Centre Plus advisers (when available) as well as information from Adult Careers advisers and Learning Centre tutors.

One to one support will also be available for practical skills such as CV writing, job searching and finding out information on particular companies.

Councillor David Harty, Cambridgeshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Learning said “Helping people gain employment is a top priority for Cambridgeshire County Council. This new free club will provide practical help for those looking for employment, as well as one to one support. These new monthly sessions are free and we encourage anyone who needs help or support to come along and meet our friendly advisors.”
