Nominations are being sought for the West Norfolk Young Hero Awards. If you know a young person who’s done something amazing for their family, friends, neighbours or a local school or voluntary group, then now’s the time to nominate for a West Norfolk Young Hero Award.

The awards have been established by KLFM and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young people in West Norfolk. They will be presented at a special ceremony at King’s Lynn Town Hall on January 13.

Nominations can be made in a total of six categories:

• Achievement through education (primary school): The award is designed to recognise all achievement by children of primary school age, including academic success or improvement, outstanding attendance or an overall contribution to school life.

• Achievement through education (secondary school): This award is designed to recognise all achievement by children of secondary school age, ranging from great academic success to improved performance or attendance or a general contribution to school life.

• Carer of the Year: If you know a young person who gives up their own time to care for a friend or relative, please nominate them in this category.

• Emergency Services Award: This award is for any young person who has come into contact with the emergency services for any reason over the last 12 months.

• Volunteer of the Year: Do you know a young person who volunteers their time for a community group? If so, please nominate them in this category.

• Mayor’s Special Award: This award is for young people who perhaps do not fit into any of the above categories and will be awarded at the discretion of the Mayor of West Norfolk.

To make a nomination visit the KL.FM website - www.klfm967.co.uk.
