WISBECH: Liz celebrates 100 years

Liz (Elizabeth) Bliss is celebrating her 100th birthday at Lyncroft Care Home.

Elizabeth (Liz) Bliss celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday.

Liz, who lives at Lyncroft Care Home in Wisbech, was the eldest daughter of 10 children.

Her father farmed off the A47 at Guyhirn and after her mother died, Liz bought up the other children.

She married local farmer Stanley Bliss and they lived in Guyhirn until his death around 30 years ago. Liz lived in Wisbech St Mary alone until recent years. She then moved to Balmoral Lodge Care Home, then to Lyncroft when Balmoral closed.

She celebrated her birthday with a party, attended by around 30 guests.
