Four suspected paedophiles have been arrested following a series of raids at properties across Nottingham, police said.
Officers searched five properties in Bilborough, Clifton, Wilford, Strelley and Bulwell as part of Operation Uniformity, which targeted men suspected of downloading child pornography.

Police said the operation involved officers from Nottinghamshir
e Police, the Metropolitan Police, Cheshire Police and the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.

Ten computers were seized and 11 children were taken into care following the raids, police said.

Detective Inspector Gerard Milano said: "With increasingly sophisticated technology at the disposal of law enforcement agencies, the likelihood of individuals who download child abuse images being detected is increasing all the time, irrespective of whether payment details are being included as part of the transaction or not.

"Nottinghamshire Police is absolutely determined to continue to tackle the demand for child abuse images online as it very directly feeds and stimulates supply, which in turn results in children, globally and locally, being subjected to the most abhorrent kinds of abuse imaginable.

"It is important that individuals who use the internet for such purposes realise that downloading child abuse images is anything but a victimless crime and that law enforcement agencies will continue to focus on catching and prosecuting anyone involved."
