FLOWERS form the theme for a series of events in May at Wisbech's Peckover House and Garden.
Throughout May, from noon-5pm, there are special displays of tulips to coincide with the Fens ‘Tulipmania’ festival. Normal admission prices.

On Friday, May 9, from 10am-2pm there’s a lecture lunch, entitled ‘Bloomers in the Garden’, with Twigs Wa
y on women gardeners and garden writers in the late Victorian and Edwardian period. Twigs is author of Virgins, Weeders and Queens.

The event includes lunch and a tour of the garden and costs £25. Booking is essential on 01945-583463.

On Wednesday, May 21, at 2pm there’s a specialist talk/walk in the garden with one of Peckover House’s gardeners. Learn about the plant hunters of the past, and how their work gave us some of the plants we enjoy in our gardens today. Booking in advance is advisable. The event costs £2.50.

Photography is in focus on Saturday, May 10, from 10am-4pm. A digital photography workshop will explore the features of your digital camera and is designed for anyone who would like to take better photos.

The workshops can be used as a good foundation by an aspiring professional photographer and are structured by skill level. You can attend just one, or build your own course.

The day costs £60 and booking is essential on 07751-745245.
