THERE'S a solution to the prospect of long school holidays with children complaining of being bored.
Fenland Council has put together a packed activity programme designed to keep children and young people active and happy through to August – and it's all free.

Every weekday until August 29 there are organised activities from tennis and athletics
to ultimate Frisbee, softball and dance.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays activities are organised at a variety of venues - in the mornings, between 10.30am-noon, council staff will be running activities for eight to 11-year-olds and from 1.30pm-3pm activities will be aimed at the 12-16 year age group.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, activities will span the eight to 16 years age group.

A maximum of 20 youngsters can take part in each activity so it is advisable to book a place in advance.

Details of each day's activities can be found on the Fenland Council website: www.fenland.gov.uk and the booking form can be downloaded.

If you are interested in booking activities on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, you can drop in to the Community House in Wisbech or call them on 01945-580309.

If you are interested in booking activities on Tuesdays or Thursdays, then drop in to the George Campbell Leisure Centre at March, or call the centre on 01354-622399.

For full details of all activities and times there are 'Summer-Thing Happening!' brochures at the council's leisure centres and Community House.

Activities on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are: tennis, cricket athletics, basketball, multi-sports, dance, ultimate Frisbee, softball and climbing wall.

Activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays are: tennis, ultimate Frisbee, football rounders, athletics, cricket, climbing wall, softball and dance.
