I would like to pose a question to Clark Thompson who wrote in last week criticising the Boathouse – pictured above – calling it a white elephant that FDC have spent so much public money on.
Has Mr Thompson ever been to the Boathouse?

Does he have any idea what the Boathouse is for?

Does he know that the majority of the money to build the Boathouse was wrestled back from Europe by FDC?

Is there any chance that rather than just sitting spouting vitriol about issues he clearly has not bothered to look into, he could actually get involved in the community and help shape events?

I would say that was very unlikely. The boathouse is home to eight local companies so far and gives free space to local Business Link events amongst other things.

It is always a good idea to find out what you’re talking about before writing to the papers, Mr Thompson.
