Old Market parking is a problem, too

I saw the many letters about Wisbech town centre and I would like to throw into the debate the parking in the Old Market.
There is a time limit in the Old Market on parking but there are no wardens, so people who live and work locally are parking all day.

The customers who visit the shops are then parking on the paths and virtually everywhere else. Pedestrians really
do take their lives in the own hands walking round here – you have to watch for traffic even on the paths.

Yellow lines are ignored, too.

So, when the councillors sort out the centre, could they also consider the Old Market?

I would suggest a traffic warden. They are a great deterrent.

...and Norfolk Street

ON Friday, April 11, I was in Norfolk Street, Wisbech, and witnessed a delivery being made.

Cars could not wait, so they were driving on the path.

I had to keep going in shop doorways to avoid being hit. Anyone coming out of a shop, or a child running out, and it would have been a disaster.

A car was hit three times and the Thatched Cottage roof damaged.

This needs pedestrianisation before a tragedy happens.

The council must get their priorities right.

L Hobley,
Wisbech.
