WHEN will people realise – protest as much as you like Mr Bevis, Joan Shirmer, John Smithee and Mr Netto; state the obvious as much as you like; you will not stop the closure of the post offices.
The reason is these closures can be laid completely at the feet of the European Union and therefore it is a done deal.

I wrote at the time of the closure of the post office at the Edgoose shop in March that the move to St Peters Road would only be a stopgap.

Like the furore over the bin collections your protests are of no avail.

The EU have said so and the EU must be obeyed.

Len Baynes,
Fairview Road,
Chatteris.
