Scandal of the 'rip-off' fuel prices in Fenland
Having just come back from filling up my car at one of the petrol outlets in Wisbech I got into a debate with a couple of people about the rip-off prices that we in Fenland have to pay for petrol.
One man asked the cashier why is it that your prices are so high.
The reply that he received was that there is no competition in the town and, basically, they can charge what they like.
Why did all the petrol stations in Wisbech increase their prices by 4p a litre when the Chancellor in his budget froze the increase of 2p a litre in duty for six months?
Once again the motorist is being used as an easy target.
One last point – where are the truckers when you need them?
