Why should football be different?
MY son is nine this year and is about to go into his third season with the same team.
Their manager has worked extremely hard in turning the team into a hard working group of young lads.
Without them being competitive this would have be near on impossible.
At times my son has been on the sidelines for much of a match and at times this has upset him but as he says in his own words even Frank Lampard doesn't always start a game.
I'm sure parents don't watch sports day without cheering for their child to win so why should football be any different?
The important point is that we teach our children to be pleased with the end result, knowing they have done their best.
