WEDNESDAYS: March and District Model Railway Club has moved to new premises for its weekly meetings.

It now meets at the Royal British Legion in March on Wednesdays from 7.30pm.

SATURDAY: Long Sutton Community Primary School is teeing off to help raise 10,000 for new outdoor play equipment.

The school is holding a charity golf match on Saturday at the Hovenden Golf Club in Holbeach.

Competitors tee off at 9am and play the 18-hole course in pairs.

Money raised from the day will go towards buying a trim-trail for the school.

Tickets to play cost 10 each. Anyone interested can contact Alison Goodley on 01406-365460.

SATURDAY: Prime Brass are giving a concert free of charge on Saturday for the Chatteris-St Ives branch of Cats Protection.

Some of the money raised will also go to the St Mary's Church at Godmanchester, which is the concert venue.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are 8 and 5 available on the night.

OCTOBER 19: October is Black History Month and to celebrate the occasion, historian and storyteller Maureen James will be giving a talk about aspects of Black History in this region next Tuesday at March Library from 7.15pm to 8.45pm.

All are welcome to attend the free event to hear about the contributions of local people to the cause of the abolition of slavery; the links between the Wisbech Clarkson family and Africa; and the narrative of Olaudah Equiano, a freed slave who wrote an account of his life, travelled the country and eventually married a girl from Soham.

OCTOBER 22: The start time is now 8pm for the Clarkson Singers' concert, with guest soloists for Childline on Friday, October 22, at St Augustine's Church, Wisbech.
