Up to 117 new homes could be built in Ementh if planners give the green light.
The Grosvenor Partnership has applied for outline planning permission to construct homes on land off Elm High Road.
The application requests permission for one bedroom flats to four bedroom houses on the 5.49 hectare site, which lies between Morrisons and Westmead Avenue.
The plans were lodged with West Norfolk Council last week.
The application’s design and access statement says: “The development provides the opportunity to contribute to the much-needed affordable and open market housing demand in Wisbech.”
Developers want to build semi-detached and terrace homes along with bungalows.
A total of 33 four bedroom houses, 68 three bedroom houses, eight two bedroom houses and eight one bedroom flats could be built.
The proposed development could be accessed via Hunter’s Rowe.
The design and access statement says: “Creation of a new village green adjacent to the main access route, integrating drainage systems, areas for informal play and recreation at the heart of the development.
“The provision of an informal recreation space in the north-eastern part of the development, incorporating footpath linkages through the development to the wider area.”
