Forty-eight people took part in the 16th annual Papworth Cup golf day at March golf club on Friday.
Les Bridgeford, organising the event, said: “It went very well, we’ve raised £3114 of a £15,000 running total.”
That total has been raising since he started the event with his wife Lucy after undergoing an emergency quadruple heart bypass at Papworth in 1997.
He said: “We made £50 the first year I did it, that was about 1998. It really has come on leaps and bounds.”
Competitors came from a number of nearby golf clubs. The winner, Ken Pope, was presented with the Papworth Cup.
Mr Bridgeford said especially enjoyed a mash and mushy peas meal with all participants and wives to close the day.
