CALLING all bands and musicians – do you fancy taking part in a fun day in Tydd St Giles?
Villagers are organising a first-time “Party on the Pitch” day-long event to raise money for the community centre.

It will be held on the playing field on August 16 with fun rides, a pram race, garage sale round the village, five-a-side football tournament and, hopefully, live music.

Ian Burnett, one of the organisers, is looking for bands to volunteer to play for a slot between the hours of 2pm to about 11pm.

“We are hoping to have live music but need some bands, singers, jazz bands, rock bands – anything really,” said Ian, who has arranged staging.

The organisers hope to make it an annual event.

Other attractions include stalls and refreshments, a hog roast, farmers’ market, a raffle with prizes including an exotic holiday, tickets for the new Wembley Stadium and membership to Tydd St Giles Golf Club.

If you are interested in being part of the live music at the fun day, contact Ian on 07879-493707.
