MORE big cat sightings have been reported following the story in last week's Citizen.
Two more readers have come forward with sightings in the Doddington and Wimblington areas.

Kevin Knott, of Chatteris, was driving on the A141 from Chatteris to March over a week ago when a big black cat ran across the road just yards in front of
him.

Mr Knott said it was twilight but he clearly saw the creature, which he said was very cat-like and had a tail about three-feet long.

"It came right across from Parkfield up from the grass, across the by-pass towards Manea. I picked it up in my headlights. It was black and looked like about six-feet long with the tail. It was really speeding."

Doddington resident Mrs Basford said her brother and sister-in-law saw what they described as a big cat when they were visiting a few weeks ago.

It was about 11.30am on a Sunday when Bill Hooper, who lives in Hertfordshire, spotted the animal.

Said Mrs Basford: "He was upstairs looking out of the landing window. At the back of our garden there is a big field.

"He suddenly shouted out 'Quick, come upstairs' but I missed it. He described it as a big cat walking down the middle of the field. It jumped a ditch and went amongst the hedgerows.

"It was bigger than a dog, about two-and-a-half-feet long and looked dark. It had a long tail and what made him think it was a cat was the way it walked and leapt elegantly across the ditch. My sister-in-law saw it as well."

Mrs Basford, who has lived in the village for two years, said she has never seen any sightings.

Last week's Citizen explained a reader saw what he believed was a big cat while driving between Turves and March on a Tuesday evening.
