YOU'VE heard of the Calendar Girls well now you can meet the Calendar Boys 2009 – thanks to a Chatteris hairdresser.
Sarah Sellers and work colleague Vicki Thorne have come up with the novel idea of producing their own fundraising calendar featuring customers and friends in daring Calendar Girl-style poses.

The cheeky fun calendar will be going on sale to raise money for a host of Chatteris charities – the Christmas lights, cricket club, boxing club, swimming club and youth and adult football clubs.

The first batch have sold like hot cakes and Sarah, of Sarah@Brians in Park Street, is having another 500 printed.

Sarah praised customers for taking part, explaining several were keen at first but then decided to spare their blushes!

The pictures have been taken by friend and customer Ryan Jarvis, of Chatteris, who also poses – complete with camera – on the back of the calendar.

Ryan has enjoyed being involved in the project which has helped with his recovery from anorexia.

The 36-year-old spent time in Addenbrooke's Hospital at Cambridge after his weight plummeted from 11st 10lbs to just 6st 8lbs.

Ryan has been struggling with anorexia for ten years but has turned his life around and hopes to pursue his hobby of photography in the new year.

"Sarah said about putting this calendar together and I offered to take the pictures," said Ryan, whose weight is now a much healthier 10st.

Ryan has his own website www.ryanjarvisphotography.co.uk and hopes to focus on wedding pictures, events and natural portraits.

He also hopes to return to his job in the new year.
Ryan said Sarah understood his illness and has been very supportive.

"I never wanted to go out and Sarah, along with many other people, really supported and helped me."

Said Sarah: "Me and Vicki sat here one dull January and said wouldn't it be fun to get our customer's clothes off. We said we'd do it but for charity.

"We were going to take the photos ourselves then Ryan has been on this photography course and he offered.

"The money is for Chatteris charities. The Christmas lights are asking for money and we decided to raise for them and some more clubs as well."

The calendars sell for £5 and when the next batch arrive, they will be available from Sarah@Brians, Chrysalis Beauty, Rita's hair salon, Shoebiz and The Lock Shop.

"We want them to sell so that the town benefits," said Sarah, whose husband is Mr December.
