CHAMPION chippy the Petrou Brothers in Chatteris are going for the elusive double in this year's bid to find Britain's best fish and chips.
The search is by the Seafish industry and in 2006 the West Park Street shop won the overall title.

Now the business is hoping to make history and win for a second time after being named the best chippy in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Rutland in the latest stage of the national Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition.

This puts the business in the final 21 in the country and the next stage is to find the best in Eastern England and eventually the best in the UK.

Mark Petrou said: "Getting to this stage of the competition recognises the hard work we've put in over the years. We'll be doing all we can to make sure we make it through to the next round."
