MARCH residents are being asked to 'clothe-a-coat hanger' at their local Scope charity shop.
The shop on Broad Street is appealing for donations as it is feeling the effects of the recession. Stock donations have fallen by nearly 20% in recent months and there has also been a noticeable decline in the quality of the clothes and household goods the charity has received.

Like other charity retailers the Scope shop has been hit by a 'recession double whammy'. While the number and quality of donations has decreased leaving them short of stock, the amount of people looking for a bargain has gone up.

The disability charity is urgently calling on locals to have a good hunt around their homes for any unwanted good-quality clothes and bric-a-brac.

As well as clothes the shop is always on the look out for people who can spare some regular time. Shop volunteers for the disability charity play an important role in helping raise funds for its vital work with disabled people.
