PUPILS at Cavalry Primary School in March were transported back to the Crimean War in a special 'living history' session.
The children enjoyed the history re-enactment by Emma Burns from Tempus Fugit, who came as Florence Nightingale and worked with them.

With Emma leading the way, pupils from classes 3, 4, 5 and 6 were allocated roles as injured soldiers and nurses and set about putting into practice what they had learnt this term about the war and the historical figure.

Fiona Davis, Key Stage 1 co-ordinator, said: “When you’ve been studying about someone who’s been dead for almost 200 years, it can be a bit dry. Emma really brought it to life.”

Tempus Fugit provide dramatic costumed historical workshops directly related to the National Curriculum.
