ST John's Fen End has been merged by Royal Mail to become part of Marshland St James.
The change happened after consultation by the national company to see what people wanted.
The majority voted to be put with Marshland St James, with only a small number of residents saying no to the move.
"It seems a shame for such a small village to lose its name like that," one unhappy resident said. "It's been called St John's Fen End for such a long time."
A Royal Mail spokesperson said "This change was instigated by a local resident. To bring about a change there is criteria to be followed and a consultation process, under a regulated Code of Practice. The Code of Practice was followed."
