CHATTERIS-based vegetable supplier Alan Bartlett and Sons (Chatteris) Ltd triumphed at the 2009 Tesco Produce Suppliers Awards held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel London.
They took home not only the Tesco Vegetable supplier of the year award but the even more prestigious Tesco Produce Supplier of the year award.

The awards are made to the supplier in each produce category who has made the greatest or most notable contribution to the Tesco business over the past 12 months and one of the category winners is also crowned Tesco Produce Supplier of the Year 2009 as the finale of the evening.

Alan Bartlett (managing director), Terry Hawthorn (director) and Steve Warwick (technical manager), accepted the award.

Mr Hawthorn said: "At Alan Bartlett's, we take great pride in being the UK's leading fresh vegetable grower packer, and work closely with all our customers to ensure quality and value."

The firm is a leading grower and packer of root vegetables, employing up to 500 people at peak times.
