IT WAS a case of 'girls only' at the College of West Ang-lia's Isle Campus in Wisbech on Friday when they played host to students from the town's Thomas Clarkson Community College.
The Isle Campus hosted an engineering taster session for Year 8 girls to see if they would like a job in that field.

More than 23 girls enjoyed practical lessons in the veh-icle body shop including activities such as spray painting, they also had a go at plumbing and 3D CAD presentations. The session was to help girls overcome the initial resistance and take part in a course that is often seen as for ‘boys only’.

“As a college we want to do everything we can to encourage young female students to explore possible career routes that would not normally be their first choice. The industry needs first rate engineers and they could be either male or female,” said the college’s Tony William.
