A plan to increase the size of a proposed new cold store, which could eventually lead to 130 new jobs for Wisbech, is due to be discussed next Wednesday (July 30).
Partner Logistics want to build the specialised store on land south of Boleness Road.

The proposal has already been welcomed by town councillors and in June was approved by Fenland Council's planning committee.

But now Partner Logistics need to increase the proposed storage capacity from 63,000 pallets to 77,000 - increasing the site area from 3.17 hectares to 3.44 hectares.

The length of the cold store has increased but the height remains the same.

The company has been awarded a contract by a Wisbech manufacturer to store frozen food and is looking to build a technically specialised cold store.

The development would be in two phases and is expected to create work for 80 people initially, potentially rising to 130.
