A YOUNG girl has been told she is lucky to be alive after suffering facial injuries in an accident with a car.
Annalise Burton, who was 12 on Friday, has lost nine teeth and broke her jaw in three places following the accident on April 28.

Annalise was cycling on Churchill Road in Wisbech at about 8.30am on her way to the Thomas Clarkson Community College when she was involved in a collision with a Volvo.

Her mum Diane wants to thank everyone for their support and she is keen to trace a couple in a red car who stopped and called the emergency services.

"The lady got out and went over to her and the man went over to the ambulance station to tell them," said Diane. "We would like to know who they are to thank them."

Annalise was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at King's Lynn and is due back in hospital today (Wednesday) to have elastic fitted to a brace inside her mouth which is to support her damaged jaw.

"She has broken her jaw on two sides of her face, the front of her chin and the top of her mouth," said her mum.

She has had eight stitches in her chin and has also split the top on the inside of her mouth.

Diane is having to liquidise all Annalise's food which she has through a straw.

"They said she was a very lucky little girl," said her mum, who believes Annalise's face took the brunt of the fall.

Annalise has had a lot of support from family and friends and a former teacher at The Orchards School has also been in touch.

Diane said the accident has shocked the rest of the family including sisters Nadine (24) and Shannan (10).
