PEOPLE worried about the Broadend Road junction of Wisbech by-pass have a chance to put their concerns at a meeting this month.
Norfolk MP Henry Bellingham is meeting residents and hopes to bring with him a representative of the Highways Agency.

The meeting has been arranged for September 15 at 1pm at the junction.

One campaigning resident, who doesn’t want to be named,
is urging everyone to attend.

The Walsoken resident managed to secure the meeting after writing to Mr Bellingham. She also has over 300 signatures to present.

“I would like to get as many people along as possible, give each other lifts if they can.

“There have been a lot of near-miss accidents. I know people who would rather go through town and up to the Little Chef roundabout because they are too frightened of that junction.”

She added improvements need doing urgently and pointed out overtaking on the hatched turning area is very dangerous.

The development follows a call in the Citizen recently from another concerned resident, Chris Read, who suggested a meeting with the Agency in a bid to get improvements.

Teenagers Robert Hostler (17) and friend Claire Stubberfield (19) both died at an accident at the junction in December and motorcyclist Adam Wall (24) died after a crash with a van in November, 2002.
