AN America serviceman who has made friends with members of a Chatteris club revisited them this week during a break from his front line role in Afghanistan.
Gary B. Zimmerman, who has family in Chatteris, found a warm welcome when he popped into the town's Working Men's Club last year during rest leave from the war.

He came back this time with his wife Rose and daughter Christine and made sure the club was near the top of his list to visit.

The sailor, whose job is to guard prisoners in Kandahar province, called in on Tuesday and presented the club with a plaque featuring the flag of Fort Bastion as a memento of his visit and of the trans-Atlantic friendship.
