SPECIALLY-trained officers are searching the scene this morning (Friday) where a man's body was found close to the A47 between Wisbech and Guyhirn.
Despite a post mortem yesterday (Thursday), the cause of death remains a mystery.

The body is believed to be that of a man, but no formal identification has been made and it is not yet known how long the body has been there.

A full-scale investigation swung into action yesterday following the discovery on Wednesday.

Detectives are continuing to talk to officers in neighbouring counties to fund out who the man is, where he worked and who his relatives are.

The body of the man was discovered by a passing motorist, who had stopped to answer a call of nature, in hedges close to the former Guyhirn lay-by at around 3.15pm on Wednesday.

Police are keeping "an open-mind" about the circumstances of the find. A post mortem report, completed by a pathologist at 10am yesterday, came back "unascertained".

A scene preservation site remains in place close to where the body was found. The A47 remains open in both directions.
