AFTER 42 years in the village of Upwell, Puddleducks Pre-School may be forced to close at the end of term if more children are not signed up for September.
Only four children are registered to return after the summer holidays and committee chairman Kate Cobley said they need at least 10 more children to make the pre-school viable.

She said parents may have been put off by a bad Ofsted report the pre-
school received last year, due to problems partly caused by a move of premises to the village hall shortly before the inspection took place.

However, Kate said the action points have been resolved and Ofsted has given them a favourable report.

An additional bonus for parents with three and four-year-olds are three additional government-funded hours of pre-school a week from September.

The pre-school is open to children aged two to four, morning and afternoon.

Children in the older group also spend one session a week in Upwell Primary School.

Kate said: “My daughter goes to the pre-school. The school visits are really good because I know when she goes there, she will already have friends and it won’t be as scary for her.”

The pre-school is holding an open day on Monday, July 13 between 1pm and 3pm. For more information, contact 07749-250931.
