OVER 20 letters of objection have been lodged against a proposal to build 16 new homes at 55 The Chase, Leverington.
T Skoulding has submitted the plan, which has prompted a number of concerns from residents and Wisbech Town Council including road safety, access, overlooking and the impact on the character of the area.

Planning chiefs are recommending approval and the application is due to be discussed by Fenland Council's planning committee next Wednesday (July 30).

A report to the committee gives details of problems relating to the felling of some trees on the site which should have been protected under a preservation order.

Access is proposed off The Chase and concern has been raised about this, but the county's highways department has no major objections.

In recommending approval, planning officers say the site is within the development boundary and the density is lower than Government guidelines.
