BALACLAVA-clad thieves have stolen a large quantity of cigarettes from a March store.
Officers are appealing for witnesses following the burglary at the Co-op on Badgeney Road at 10.30pm on Sunday.
Three people, all wearing balaclavas and black clothing, entered the shop and stole the cigarettes.
They transported them to their
waiting vehicle in dustbins and emptied them into the car before making off at speed.
Some damage was caused at the store, primarily to the front door shutters and the shutter over the cigarettes.
The Co-op was closed Monday morning so the police could carry out their investigations, but the store was open as normal from lunchtime.
It is not yet known the value of the cigarettes stolen but Anglia Co-op anticipate the cost to be quite high.
Detective Sergeant Matt Swash said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time as they may have seen something to help with our investigations.
"We know there was a dog walker in the area who we would like to identify and we would like to speak to anyone who saw a car driving out of the area at speed."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Swash at Wisbech Police Station on 0345-4564564 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555111.
