WISBECH library re-opened its doors on Monday after undergoing a major £2.5 million face-lift.
The library, at The Crescent, has been extended and remodelled at ground and first floor level, with a new learning centre, a community meeting room equipped with ceiling mounted projector and hearing loop, and better facilities throughout including more room for children, new toilets and a lift.
Local people were involved in planning the project from the very beginning and hundreds of local people took part in a consultation that helped prepare a successful bid for Big Lottery funding.
The learning centre, funded by a £100,000 grant from EEDA, will provide an IT suite.
