NOW enjoying its 19th year on tour performing ABBA’s million-selling hits, the acclaimed production Thank You for the Music has entertained the nation for longer than Bjorn, Agnetha, Benny and Frida did during the 70s and 80s.
More than 40 years of ABBA hits has created an incredible musical legacy - a record-breaking movie, a smash-hit West End musical, chart-topping albums and singles plus the show Thank You for the Music.
Performing solid-gold hits including Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Waterloo, Fernando, Knowing Me, Knowing You, The Name of the Game, Take a Chance on Me, The Winner Takes It All and scores more, the production brings a brand-new production to the stage this year.
Celebrating 40 years of ABBA hits, the show features brand-new choreography, sparkling new costumes and a completely revamped score packing in even more ABBA hits.
Now recognised as the leading ABBA concert show – the trade mark for the name Thank You for the Music has been registered by the show’s producers.
Original ABBA members Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida), Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Faltskog released their first material under the name ABBA in 1972. After winning the Eurovision Song Contest with the single Waterloo the following year, the quartet went on to record 19 top 20 hits, topping the charts on no less than nine occasions.
“Few bands can claim to have made as big an impact on British pop music history,” said Martin Spooner, who plays Bjorn in Thank You for the Music.
“Their million-selling hits are eternal. ABBA’s music is as popular today as it was in their Seventies and Eighties heyday. Thank You for the Music continues this incredible legacy.”
Thank You for the Music is playing at The Cresset, Peterborough, on Friday, March 16, at 8pm. Tickets are £19.50 each.
