The smash hit children’s theatre show Horrible Histories is coming to The Act Theatre in September.

The Barmy Britain tour is heading to Wisbech straight from a sell out West End run.

Theatre spokesman Allison Baverstock said: “We are delighted to welcome the Horrible Histories Barmy Britain show to our new theatre.

“This really is a special show and is ideal for a family trip. We are hoping to keep bringing high calibre shows like this to the theatre and have been very pleased so far by the support given to us by the local community.”

The high-energy show performed by the Birmingham Stage Company is set in London and takes the audience through various centuries of British history from the Romans to the Vikings and on to the Georgians.

Since opening in April The Act Theatre in Corporation Road, Wisbech has welcomed hundreds of theatre goers.

A David Bowie tribute act and comedy show will be appearing at the venue in the autumn, with a Christmas show to be confirmed shortly.

There are two performances for Barmy Britain on Saturday, September 14, at 2pm and 4pm. Tickets cost from £12, with group bookings and family discounts available. There is also a special price for school groups.
