Farmer and presenter Adam Henson wowed the audience of 275 when he was the guest speaker at the invitation of the Isle of Ely Federation Board of Trustees of the WI.

People were queuing outside Wisbech St Mary Community Centre in the rain on Thursday to listen to the popular BBC Countryfile presenter, who spoke about his Cotswold farm, his rare breeds of cattle and how he came to take over the farm from his father.

He also told the audience how he got involved with the Countryfile programme and explained about the filming both at his farm and various other locations.

Trustee and press officer Beryl Brooks said it was a very successful afternoon with a buffet of cakes, sandwiches, scones and sausage rolls made by members.

Beryl said the farming community audience had lots of questions for Adam and the Board of Trustees opened the event up to family members as well as WI members.

Adam brought along some of his books which were sold out.
