WISBECH Ladies Probus Club changed officers last week.
Taking over the chain of office as president is Alma Walsh. Out-going president Maureen Buckenham handed over the chain and also had a cheque for £200 for her chosen charity raised during her term in office.
The money will be going towards the National Memorial Arboretum. Mrs Buckenham decided on this charity after a visit to the Arboretum. The money was raised from fundraisers including the president’s coffee morning and raffles.
This was the annual meeting and it was held at Tydd St Giles Golf Club.
The Probus Club meets once a month on the second Tuesday at noon for 12.30pm. Meetings usually comprise lunch and a speaker.
Newcomers are welcome of any age and background. If you want to find out more contact Alma on 01945-410843.
