CHURCHES Together in March has said ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped in any way towards the shoebox appeal for Operation Christmas Child.

Saturday saw 352 boxes collected from Trinity Church on the first stage of their journey to Swaziland, £450 was also raised through donations, coffee and sales stalls towards transports costs.

One enterprising family from Trinity covered and filled an amazing 60 boxes.

Eileen Russell said: “In order to reach their target, hours were spent baking and selling cakes so they could buy items for the shoeboxes. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this Christmas special for disadvantaged children.”
