WISBECH and District Cancer Support is celebrating ten years since the formation of the charity in July 2001 and a total of £110,000 raised.
The annual meeting was held on July 5 when Anita Barker was re-elected as chairman, John Barker as treasurer, Pauline Thorne as sectreary and the remaining committee re-elected en bloc.
Anita gave her chairman’s report expressing thanks to the committee and trustees for their continuing support.
“We do appreciate the support we get from the general public and thank them for their generosity over the years,” said Anita.
“We have been able to purchase various medical equipment, most of which helps local cancer sufferers in their own homes. Also providing equipment for use in local doctors’ surgeries.”
Anita said how important it is to fund raise as more and more patients are in need of help and support.
“We will, as a charity, do our best, continue to raise money giving the care and attention that cancer patients deserve,” she added.
