Registered architect and English Heritage advisor David Grech will talk about English vernacular architecture in an illustrated presentation at the Dwight Centre, Wisbech Grammar School from 7.30pm on Monday 13 January 2014.
Vernacular architecture concerns the structure and appearance of commonplace domestic and functional buildings and Mr Grech will explore the rich variety of this architecture in England, as well as its relationship to the underlying geology. The talk will be based on a walk that he took from Beachy Head, East Sussex, to St Bees Head, Cumbria.
Non-members are invited to attend the lecture, for which Wisbech Society requests a donation of £3.00 or more.
