IT was presentation time at the annual meeting of Chatteris Royal British Legion Women’s Section.

The Ada Challis Shield for outstanding commitment for the year went to Anne Wells. The Competition Cup for the most points achieved went to Fred Aspinall. The Harrison Murray Shield was presented by Theresa Foreman and Sarah Hills from the firm to the winning team of the annual quiz which comprised Jane Busby, Myrtle Busby, Suzanne Harrop and Evelyn Micklethwaite.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the Working Men’s Club and Harrison Murray for their support and others will be going to Barclays Bank Chatteris Branch, for matching the fundraising at Ramsey 1940’s event and to Anne Bailes and Maggie Squires for their tombola on behalf of the Section.

Brenda Allan welcomed members and Joyce Mitchell gave the president’s address. Reports were given by the officers and members were thanked for their generosity and support over the past year enabling the section to send £4,100 to the Benevolent Fund.

Brenda Allen took up her honorary role as president and was handed the President’s Jewels which she had donated to the Section. Joyce Mitchell and Voula Harding are vice-presidents.
