BALLOONS filled the sky over March on Saturday as a couple remembered their baby daughter.

Jenny and Adam Pugh marked what would have been their daughter Jessica’s due date with an event to raise cash for the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital’s Cots for Tots Appeal.

Jessica was stillborn in August at the hospital after Jenny went into premature labour at just 25 weeks pregnant.

Although Jessica didn’t need the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, her dad Adam said if things had gone differently she would have and could have spent up to 15 weeks in the unit.

They found out about the hospital’s appeal when they were there and wanted to help.

The Pughs were delighted to raise around £600 for the appeal, around £300 of which was raised with a stall on March Market Place.

In addition to the balloon release – which saw between 100 and 120 balloons released from West End Park – they also sold raffle tickets for donated prizes.

The family thanked the many people who helped them, including HR Mallet, Inspirations, Millview Fishing Tackle, The Cycle Shop, Corine Turner (Turner & Sons), The Griffin, Sutton Park Hotel Blackpool and especially Balloon Print, who donated the balloons.
