The best flowers and vegetables were put on show in Murrow on Saturday for the annual autumn show.

Just over 200 entries were meticulously scrutinised by the judges before the very best were awarded prizes.

There were categories from fruit and vegetables to arts and crafts in the show held at the village hall.

Although the vegetable, salad and fruit entries held up, organisers were disappointed in the number of entries for categories such as cookery and floral art.

However the show generally went well and the hall looked “lovely”.

The best in show was awarded to Sharon Kennelly for her handicraft. Richard Pollington had the highest number of points in the show and came away with several trophies. A prolific vegetable grower, he supported many of the fruit, vegetable and flower classes.

Following the presentation of awards, the majority of the produce was then auctioned off, with around £200 going to Murrow Playing Field.
