Breakfast was top of the menu last week as local people took part in National Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

At Emneth Nursery School and Children’s Centre, around 60 people enjoyed a tasty breakfast on Wednesday.

Donna Oldfield from the centre said they are always really well supported by families and the breakfast went down very well.

Savoury bacon and tomato scones were popular and headteacher Jill Wharton was given the task of cooking the bacon.

At Skylark Garden Centre in Wimblington, breakfasts were also being promoted, with a £5 voucher being offered up for every Fenland Breakfast ordered through the week. This offer is continuing this week.

Farmhouse Breakfast Week is an annual celebration championing the importance of breakfast, which aims to get the nation to Shake Up Their Wake Up and encourage them to regularly enjoy a healthy breakfast.
