OVER 30 different species were identified on Wednesday evening when March Wildlife Group held its annual Bug Hunt at Gault Wood, which is owned by the Woodland Trust but looked after by the Wildlife Trust.
Children, accompanied by adults, enjoyed fishing around with nets - scooping up a variety of moths, insects, spiders, frogs, crickets and more which were identified by Jane Andrews-Gauvain, of Cambridge and Peterborough Environmental Record Centre, and Rob Partridge, a grasshopper and cricket expert.
The wildlife club provided the equipment and an estimated 60 people attended.
March Wildlife Group is open to adults and children. If you want to find out more, contact the chairman, Alan Palmer on 01354-656207.
