THE Bishop of Grantham performed a dedication ceremony on new buildings at Tydd St Mary Church of England Primary School last Tuesday.

Headteacher Sonya Ripley explained the new buildings give much-needed extra space to the village school which is growing in pupil numbers.

Work started last summer and was completed by January.

It has resulted in a new office and administration area and the transformation of a derelict outbuilding into a library and study room for children working in small groups.

The ceremony lasted about 30 minutes and included parents and governors being invited, new vicar Rev Judith Dunkling, church wardens and Simon Hardy from the Dioceses of Lincoln.

After the service of collective worship, the visitors were able to look around the new facilities and Bishop Tim spent time meeting the children in their classrooms.
