WISBECH’S Top Stitch Fabrics celebrated 30 years in business in July.
In reflecting on the changes over the years, shop owner Angela Reynolds, said: “I opened Top Stitch in 1982 in the same premises in Hill Street we trade from today.
We’ve seen many changes over those 30 years. The Horsefair shopping development, the town bypass and out-of-town shopping spring to mind. It’s hard to think now that the World Wide Web was not around in 1982 but, despite the growth in online shopping, we still have an important role to play.
“Nothing beats being able to touch and feel the fabric before making a choice and we love helping our customers with projects and sewing problems. Dressmaking is enjoying a revival recently and patchwork is always very popular.
“We still stock all the things you need to make clothes or a quilt. We have a great range of beautiful fabrics and we have lots of patience and lots of expertise.
“We are pretty good at helping with fancy dress costumes too.”
