THE man behind Wisbech’s Cromwell Road Retail Park is the guest speaker at the annual meeting of Wisbech Chamber of Commerce.
Jonathan Clogg will give a presentation about the proposed new retail units at Cromwell Road.
Last month, the Citizen revealed plans to create over 500 jobs as part of a £50 million redevelopment of the former greyhound stadium which will see the town’s Tesco store move across the road.
The Chamber meeting is Monday March 21 at 7.30pm at Wisbech Grammar School.
As well as Chamber members, other businesses are invited to hear the presentation and find out more about the Chamber’s work.
After the presentation the Chamber will present its objectives for the year ahead.
One of the main objectives is to increase footfall in the town centre for retailers by maintaining a relationship with the Cromwell Road developers to promote retailers in both parts of the town; stressing the importance of maintaining a regular public transport link between the new development and the town centre; encouraging Fenland District Council to make a provision for short term bays within their car parks; and supporting and offering guidance to schemes that will offer a speedy solution in making the Market Place and High Street a safer, controlled and more welcoming environment for shoppers.
Any non-members who would like to attend should ring Barbara Oliver, Chamber secretary on 01945-587437.
