The Produce World Group has recognised its Chatteris site in the annual Pride of Produce World Group Awards. The Group’s onions and leeks unit based at Chatteris picked up a major award as one of its employees, Lucy Martin, won the Special Individual Recognition Award. It also received a runners-up award in the Community Impact category.
Andrew Holding, who is the Business Unit Director for the Chatteris site, said: “We are delighted to have scooped one of the major awards at this year’s ceremony. The Group employs around 1,000 people across six sites, so winning these awards is a real recognition of the good work being done at Chatteris.
“We nominated Lucy because she is the kind of person who is totally reliable. She is always willing to help anyone. If anybody wants to know anything they only have to ask Lucy. She’s a great asset and thoroughly deserves this accolade.”
Lucy (pictured receiving her award) is a Lead Finance Assistant and has worked for the company for seven years. The award was presented by David Frost, Produce World Group’s HR Director. Andrew Griffin from the same site was the second runner-up in the Community Impact Award. Andrew ran a 10K race and raised over £600 for research into Alzheimer’s disease.
