Today (Thursday) is the last day to register for the first round of an innovative apprenticeship competition at a Wisbech salon.
Top to Toe, in Hill Street, has been awarded for its commitment to apprenticeships but owner Paul Davies wanted to make this latest recruitment drive a bit more interesting.
He said: “For so many young people this is their only experience of an official interview which is quite a daunting prospect. So in an attempt to make the interview process less scary and more fun, I have launched the salon’s first Chop Idol competition, with the lucky winner getting the opportunity to be the next Hairdressing Apprentice at Top To Toe.”
The competition will take place over three rounds culminating in the final round’s chance to show their potential in performing a colour and blow dry on a mannequin head.
Paul added: “Young people are the life blood of the industry I love. If you can link them with the current Government’s emphasis on Apprenticeships and the perfect framework they have given them, they could go on to become the next Jamie Stevens!
“The whole salon team here at Top To Toe are committed to nurturing that talent. We can’t wait to meet our first Chop Idol.”
First round registration ends Thursday, June 6. Call Front of House on 01945-584272 for more details.
