MARCH’S new Anglia Co-operative Travel branch is just the ticket for the town centre, according to new mayor Bernard Keane.
Cllr Keane officially opened the new branch at 34 Broad Street on Saturday – one of his first official functions in his third term as the town’s civic leader.
He said: “It was packed even before I officially opened it – it’s really good news for the town centre to have another successful business here.”
Staff were working on the new premises until 4.30am on Saturday to ensure they were ready for the opening.
The branch – which has transferred from the Westgate department store in Station Road – was packed throughout opening day.
Manager Natasha Thatcher said: “Opening day was an absolute success. We had so many people in to see the premises, join in our celebrations and take advantage of some great offers.”
